Work Placement

The work placement is a vital and essential part of the programme. Trainees improve language, professional and personal skills.
However, the experience and benefits they gain are directly linked to the detail and information we are sent by the trainee and the programme organisers in advance. The more you tell us about the trainee - the easier it is for us to find that perfect work placement.
Once we receive this information, we aim to get a very close match between the Host Company and trainee so that everybody wins.
At the end of their placements trainees will: | Get new professional skills that will make them more employable when they return to their own country
| | Gain exposure and insights into Irish business
| | Develop new language skills particular to their specialised work area
| | Get hands on practical work experience that will stand to them when they are looking for future employment
| | Develop their interpersonal skills and confidence in the work place through dealings with customers and colleagues |
During their work placement, Alaymont are available as support to both the Host Company and the trainee. During the last week of the work placement we visit the trainee at work and meet with the supervisor to complete the evaluation.
Where placements are covered under LEONARDO funding, payment is prohibited but gratuities are acceptable at the end of a placement. However, they are not expected. When LEONARADO funding is not available, an allowance is agreed between the agency and the host company.
