Programmes for Schools or Community Based Groups

There are 4 different programmes available to Secondary Schools and Community Groups.
They can be fun focused or more formal in structure with close observation of individual skills and abilities.
Programme 1: Getting to know You
This programme is great for first years or fifth years - or youth or other groups who are interacting for the first time.
This one day experience is designed to break down barriers, develop friendships and build a good group dynamic. It can be geared towards the specific needs of the group.
Programme 2: Outdoor Learning Experience
(1 or 2 days)
This programme is for Trainsition Year or Established Groups.
This experience gives the individual and the group a learning experience in the outdoors. The unfamiliar environment helps them to identify aptitudes and build the group dynamic.
It is usually a focal point of the TY experience for schools and is a turning point for any group taking part. In addition, organisers can avail of a report on each person taking part.
Programme 3: Bonding Day
This programme is for Leaving Cert Applied Groups, 5th Year groups, Adult Community Leaders, Teams of youth / community workers, participants on long term training courses and boarding groups.
This programme tests the endurance and flexibility of participants. It builds up people's self-confidence and their confidence in one another. It improves interpersonal relations. It focuses on encouraging people who don’t usually take part or engage. This programme changes the way people look at themselves and each other.
Programme 4: 6 Sessions of Outdoor Training
This programme is for Junior Cert Schools Programme or School Completion Programme Groups, Intervention Groups and Community Leadership Teams.
This programme is run in a variety of locations with different tasks and challenges each time. It offers a continuous reward and assessment programme for the at risk and target groups. The facilitators use their skills to build personal responsibility, team accountability, confidence, team spirit, a sense of achievement and fun in the participants.
Participants are challenged to grow through participating in the training. The results for the first 5 sessions contribute to a rating system for a final task so continuous participation is essential.
