Objective
To train the basic skill requirements, correctional instruction and associated job safety knowledge of basic Loading Shovel operations, in keeping with health and safety legislation.  Background

Loading shovels have been used in construction and other manufacturing type industries for years. As truck sizes have increased, manufacturers have matched them with loading shovels. This has increased the requirement for training and certification of operation.
All operators must be trained in the correct use of loading shovels and transporting different types of loads.  Course Includes:

Theory:  | Duties of operator
|  | Pre-shift inspections & maintenance of machines
|  | Hazards associated when operating the machine |
Practical:  | Inspection of machine before use
|  | Safe load & transportation of loads
|  | Safe operation & control of machine when working in hazardous conditions
|  | Recognition and use of approved hand signals
|  | Wearing of correct PEE |
Participants must bring the following on the day of training:
1. Passport Photo
2. Current Safe Pass is advisable
3. Personal Protective Equipment
Participants must be aged 18 years or over
